Yamas are the first limb to the 8 limb path in the Yoga Sutras by Patanjali. This text guides the student through step by step instructions to practice Yoga ultimately to create lasting fulfilment in this lifetime, deep contentment within and freedom, true liberation. This series will go through the first step in this process. The Yamas are moral and ethical guideline or restraints to deepen our relationship to ourselves and others in life. As it is the first limb suggesting that this be the prerequisite to the following 7 limbs. These will be explored in other series. For this moment enjoy applying the Yamas to your practice.
