I have been practicing with Zephyr for many years now – and she is truly inspirational.
Aside from looking like a cross between a supermodel and a rock star – and also having an unparalleled knowledge of the biomechanics yoga (grounded in a background in medicine) – she is also able to share her vulnerabilities to illustrate the spiritual teachings that are at the heart of yoga.
Drawing on the yoga sutras, she tailors each week’s classes around a specific lesson: starting with a preamble introduction (during which she explains the theory behind that week’s class), before applying said theory in a physical asana and pranayama practice, and closing with yoga nidra / meditation (her lilting Idaho accent soothing you into deep relaxation). Further – said preamble allows the student to transfer the lessons learnt from her classes into everyday life.
Finally – Zephyr – utilises digital platforms – such as her website (Zephyryoga.com) – as well as Instagram and Facebook – to provide recordings of her classes – which allows her students to follow-up at their leisure.
All of the above is delivered with a self-deprecating humour. I would not hesitate to recommend Zephyr to any student of yoga.
